We have teamed up with a pre-IPO cloud security company that are looking for a database engineer to join their team. The database engineer will be working as part of the DevOps team and you will play a key role as the company evolves their architecture to meet the demands. The Database Engineer will be required to have the following skills:
Comfortable writing Python code.
Deep knowledge of working with Mysql, MongoDB, and Redis. Cassandra a big plus. HBase, Elasticsearch, Kafka experience also desirable.
Experience with Linux/Unix OS administration and network operations.
Solid understanding of inner-workings of MySQL and NoSQL database servers impacting capacity, latency, throughput, scale, clustering.
Experience with infrastructure automation.
Experience with GCP database technologies e.g. Spanner, Big Table, cloud SQL etc
Take ownership of production databases: Operations, optimization, automation, data integrity, backup, HA, recovery.
Build, scale, and administer MySQL and PostgreSQL infrastructure with a focus on the performance, availability and growth needs of the company.
Manage databases and database servers on bare metal, in Docker containers, and hosted in AWS managed services.
Scale databases, stay proactive about improving infrastructure and schema, turning metrics into meaningful data for decision making.
Build an ecosystem supported by full-coverage automation.
Participate in on-call coverage for databases and database related outages.
Troubleshooting, fault-isolation and communication across the infrastructure and applications teams.
